Zoella Beauty | Kissy Missy Lip Balm

Zoella - also known as Zoe Sugg - is a very successful blogger/YouTuber, hitting millions of subscribers on her channel. I love both of Zoe's books (review here) and I really wanted to try some of her beauty products. One of the things I picked was the Kissy Missy Lip Balm. I ordered it from Superdrug and was really excited to try it when I received it in the post.

First Impressions

The packaging is a very cute design - I love the pastel colours and pretty fonts, surrounding the Zoella logo in the centre. In my opinion, the size of the pot is perfect - it's little and definitely won't take up much space in your bag, but there's still a good amount of lip balm crammed in there! The lip balm itself looks very smooth and it's colour is lovely. Another thing that I like is the scent - it smells of vanilla. So far so good!

 After Use

At first, I found it took a couple of coats to get some colour - but after a day of two, the lip balm had softened up a bit, and it went on very easily. I like the way that it's firm and doesn't feel sticky on your lips. It leaves a pretty pink layer, which you can leave pale or build it up into a brighter colour if you'd like to. It stays on for a very long time and leaves your lips feeling moisturized. I love it!

Overall, I'd really recommend this product. If you'd like to get this product, I'll leave a link to it here. In January, a new Zoella Beauty range will be coming out, replacing the Tutti Fruity range that the Kissy Missy lip balm comes from - so I'd pick one up soon. I'm so happy that I got this lip balm - and I'm excited to see what the new range will include!

Last Minute DIY Christmas Gifts

As I'm writing this, there are five sleeps left until Christmas morning. I absolutely love Christmas time and I always find it fun collecting gifts for friends and family in the run up to Christmas day. If you like crafts, or are maybe running a little bit late and need some last minute presents, I've got a few easy present ideas for you. It's always special to open a present someone has made specially for you - and it's fun for you to create, too.

Sweet Jar

All you need for this present is a jar, decorations and lots of sweets. I went to the shop and bought lots of different bags of sweets. Just layer them up in your jar, screw on the lid, and get decorating! You could use a jam jar, or a glass bowl.  Mine didn't have a lid, so I just covered the opening in fabric. I also stuck on her first initial to decorate - but you could add stickers or ribbons too. I think this is a fun gift and was really easy to make.

Cards

It's always fun to make your own cards. For mine, I just folded the card in half and decorated. For the first, I used raffia and Christmas paper to make the bunting, and, for the second, I used a twig and Christmas paper to make a Christmas tree. These were really quick but very fun to make. You could scan Pinterest for some design ideas or maybe you could Zentangle a card with Christmas patterns?

 Photos

I like to use special photos as presents. You could print one off and put it in a frame. If you've got a little bit more time, you could put the picture on a plain background and doodle round the edges.

Those are all of my home-made Christmas present ideas. They're really fun, quick and easy - but I think they make lovely presents and cards. I hope these helped some of you and gave you some ideas.

Have you made any home-made presents?

I'm going to start with the Fifty Facts About Me tag. Thank you to Rosie for the nomination! I really like this tag because it's really fun, quick and easy to read - and you always learn something new. I'll link Rosie's blog here, so you can take a look.

Moving on to the Christmas Beauty tag, a big thank you to Alice at Girl Abroad for the nomination! I've picked a few of the questions from her version of the tag, which I'll link here.

1.) Have you been naughty or nice this year with your skin care routine?

Nice, I think! Over the last couple of years, I've tried a lot of different brands for skincare, but I recently discovered that the Superdrug's own products seem to work best for me!

2) What's your go-to beauty, makeup or skincare product you would gift?

I think I would gift a set of nail varnishes, or a nail art set. A set of different lip balms would be nice present too.

3) Are you participating in Blogmas this year? If so, what is the post you're most proud of?

Actually, no. I'm not doing Blogmas this year, but maybe next time? I love reading other people's blogmas-es -  it's fun to click on a blog each day and see that a new post has popped up.

4) Do you remember the first beauty product you received at Christmas? Did you like it?

I'm not sure, actually. I think it might of been nail varnishes - I've still got them. They're Claire's - there is a sparkly pink, a glittery top-coat and a pale pink. I loved them!

5) What product would you recommend as a stocking stuffer?

I think I'd recommended a Body Shop lip balm. I did a review here. They're small and affordable but really useful and would make a lovely gift.

For both of the tags, you have to nominate a couple of bloggers to have a go at them too. (You pick either tag  - or both! - to do, so if you've already done one, you can do the other if you'd like to).

I nominate:

Hannah from h.r.j

and
Alice from Girl Abroad

Likewise, anyone reading who'd like to have a go at these tags, feel free to have a go - if you do, please link to it in the comments because I'd love to take a look.

The Body Shop | Mango Shower Gel/Pink Lip Balm

As you may have seen in my November Favourites, I loved the Body Shop's strawberry shower gel. When I ran out, I decided to repurchase - but I got a different one this time. I got the mango - and it's definitely another favourite.

The first thing that I noticed was the colour. It's a gorgeous orange. To match, it smells delicious - a burst of sweet mango. I love the way it doubles up as a bubble bath - a small squirt under the tap forms heaps of big, frothy bubbles. I thought that it was a really good price for the size of the bottle and they last a really long time.

While I'm talking about the Body Shop, I'd also like to add that I got a lip balm from there too. I got it in Lychee - it's leaves a lovely shine and a pale tint. I'd really recommend this - it looks lovely and has a gorgeous vanilla scent too.

Both of these products would be great purchases for this time of year - they'd be great little gifts for you to give to friends for Christmas, as Secret Santa's or stocking fillers.

~ Mango shower gel, 250ml - £4.00
~ Lip balm - £3.00

Have you ever tried any of these?

November Favourites

Hi everyone!

Another month gone already - happy December! Only twenty-five days to go until Christmas..! November's been good though - I loved Bonfire Night. What are your favourites for this month?

I'm going to start with my Strawberry Shower Gel, from The Body Shop. I actually finished this, because I loved it so much. It's lasted a long time and the product is lovely. It smells sweet and fresh, and I love the way that it doubles up as a bubble bath. I've just ran out of this product, but I'm sure it'll be one that I will repurchase in the future.
The next thing has to be Superdrug's facewash. They come in different scents/flavors: I got one in pink grapefruit, and one lemon. I've tried lots of different face washes, and lots of different brands, but these have to be a favourite. They each work really well, and smell amazing. They last for a really long time because I find that you only need a really small amount each time.

I also wanted to mention an instrument this time! I've started teaching myself to play the ukulele! I didn't know that there were so many songs you learn and play on them. I've found a really useful YouTube channel for beginners which I'll link here.
Last, I've got my absolute favourite thing from this November. My Polaroid camera. I got the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8, from Argos. I love the way it prints the pictures and watching them develop. The photos are good quality and the camera has a powerful flash and good focus. I think it looks very cute and quirky - I love it!

What were your favourites for November?
